Membuat Halaman Custom 404

Untuk menghindari munculnya status error 404 pada crawl error, anda bisa membuat file custom 404. Caranya anda buat file HTML biasa (misal bernama hilang.html) untuk menampilkan informasi bahwa halaman web yang diakses tidak ditemukan. Selanjutnya buat file .htaccess untuk mengatur penyajian file hilang.html tersebut.

Untuk kebutuhan pembuatan file hilang.html, pastikan pada file .htaccess anda belum ada baris ErrorDocument (jika ada berarti CMS anda sudah menyediakan halaman custom 404). Sisipkan baris berikut pada file .htaccess yang telah anda miliki.

ErrorDocument 404 /notFound.html

Jika belum memiliki file .htaccess, anda bisa membuat sendiri. Tuliskan baris berikut pada notepad, lalu simpan dengan nama .htaccess. Pastikan file anda simpan dengan save as type: All Files (*.*), bukan .txt.

Setelah .htaccess selesai anda buat, kini buatlah file hilang.html, anda bisa membuat file baru atau memodifikasi file template anda untuk menyeragamkan layout halaman hilang.html.

Setelah selesai, upload kedua file tersebut (.htaccess dan hilang.html) ke direktori utama website anda. Pastikan anda mengubah hak akses file .htaccess anda menjadi 644, agar hanya anda yang berhak mengeditnya.

Lakukan uji coba dengan cara mengetikkan URL yang tidak ada pada website anda, misalnya : http://www.domainAnda.com/aaaamj.html. Pastikan muncul halaman seperti yang telah anda buat sebelumnya pada file hilang.html.

Jika tidak ada hasilnya, kemungkinan karena rujukan file hilang.html di .htaccess mengalami konflik dengan pengaturan lain di baris sebelumnya. Jika memang tidak ada pengaturan lainnya, coba ganti baris ErrorDocument dengan menuliskan URL lengkap seperti berikut, lalu upload lagi file .htaccess anda:

ErrorDocument 404 http://www.domainAnda.com/hilang.html

atau

ErrorDocument 404 http://domainAnda.com/hilang.html

Kini anda memiliki dua keuntungan, di satu sisi website anda tetap tampil cantik dan pengunjung tetap merasa nyaman meskipun sedang tersesat ke halaman yang tidak valid, di sisi lain search engine menyukai teknik ini.

Cara Redirect Non WWW ke WWW

3. Cari file .htaccess, kemudian edit file tersebut
4. Tambahkan kode berikut

   RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.domainAnda.com/$1 [L,R=301]
   
   
   Gantilah teks domainAnda.com dengan nama domain milik anda, demikian juga sebaliknya.
5. Setelah selesai kemudian save

6. Jangan terlalu banyak melakukan interlinking. Jika hal tersebut terbaca oleh google sebagai upaya menaikkan ranking maka hasil yang didapat malah ranking website anda akan turun.
7. Jangan meletakkan link secara tersembunyi. Link tersembunyi merupakan cara lama yang dilakukan webmaster dengan memasukkan banyak tulisan, kemudian memberi warna sesuai dengan background sehingga link tersebut tidak kelihatan.
8. Jangan menggunakan teknik Cloaking, Cloaking digunakan untuk mengelabuhi search engine. Jika search engine melakukan crawling, halaman website yang dibaca oleh robot google akan berbeda dengan website yang dilihat oleh pengunjung melalui browser.
9. Jangan mengirimkan automated query ke google (Menggunakan program submit ke search engine secara masal).
